O Prêmio Eisner pode não ser uma unanimidade entre leitores de quadrinhos, mas definitivamente é o prêmio mais popular da indústria de arte sequencial mundial há bastante tempo. Hoje, através do site oficial da San Diego Comic-Con, foi anunciada a relação dos indicados na edição 2016 do prêmio, que será entregue no próximo dia 22 de julho, em cerimônia durante a própria SDCC.
Os artistas Brasileiros marcam presença em duas categorias: Rafael Albuquerque é indicado a Melhor Capista por seus trabalhos em seu gibi autoral Ei8ht, da Dark Horse, e em Huck, da Image Comics, enquanto os irmãos Gabriel Bá e Fábio Moon foram indicados na categoria “Melhor adaptação de outra mídia” pelo seu trabalho baseado no romance de Milton Hatoum, Dois Irmãos, da Quadrinhos na Cia, distribuído nos EUA pela Dark Horse.
Este ano a Fantagraphics e a Image Comics lideram o ranking, com 17 e 14 indicações (além de quatro da Image compartilhadas com outras editoras) respectivamente, seguidos pela BOOM! Studios, com 11 indicações. Marvel, DC Comics e Dark Horse tem múltiplas indicações compartilhadas (basicamente em categorias de colorização); no entanto, em indicações exclusivas as três editoras tem 5, 5 e 6 apontamentos, respectivamente.
Em termos de criadores, este ano temos uma distribuição mais diluída das indicações. Portanto, os artistas com o máximo de indicações individuais são Nate Powell (por March: Book Two) e Ed Piskor (por Hip Hop Family Tree) com três indicações cada um.
